The church of St Donat (Welsh - St Dunwyd) dates from the
12th century, with additions and changes being made over the next few hundred
years.
It lies in the shadow of the medieval castle which shares its name, itself a
very historic building. Built by the Stradling family. In the early 20th
century it was bought by the newspaper baron William Randolf Hurst. Now it is
the home of the 'Atlantic College', an international sixth form college.
The church contains a number of Norman features, and is distinguished by its
Victorian stained glass, Norman font, and Stradling memorial. It is a Grade I
listed building.
